Fruit Base
- 3 apples peeled and diced
- 3 cups blueberries fresh or frozen
- 2 tbsp corn starch
- 1/2 tbsp cinnamon
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
Crumble Topping
- 8 tbsp butter (1 stick)
- 1 cup flour
- 1 cup oats
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
Preheat the oven to 350℉. Prepare your 9x9 baking dish by spraying with oil
To make the fruit filling, combine all filling ingredients in a mixing bowl until fully incorporated. Pour into prepared baking dish. Set aside while you make the crumble topping
In a medium saucepan, place a stick of butter on medium heat. Allow the butter to cook until it turns a light amber-brown color. This should take 5-7 minutes. Once browned, immediately take off the heat and set aside
While the butter is cooling, combine the rest of the crumble topping ingredients into a mixing bowl. Pour the warm butter over the ingredients and mix with a fork until a wet sand consistency is formed
Use your hands to sprinkle the topping over the fruit base evenly
Bake at 350℉ for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is crispy and golden brown, and the fruit below is bubbling
